 Senior Mechanical Engineer
Hybrid-Onsite 3 days week-Fridley MN
Long term W2 Hourly Contract
 $53.47-61.71 per hour DOE*

 Do you enjoy creating complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems, preferable PTC Pro-E or CREO?  Are you interested in a role where you'd not only be doing hands on design, but also provide input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets? Would a 9/80 work week with every other Friday off appeal to you?  If you answered 'yes' to all three, we'd like to hear from you!

We need a Sr. ME who can step into this critical role to research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products like ammunition handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and other devices used by our active service members and our allies. 

Day to day responsibilities for this position will include:
  • Performing technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex engineering problems
    using specialized equipment and computer programs. 
  • Analyzing and interpreting design specifications, drawings, documents, models, and test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements. 
  • Developing and writing technical documentation, making revisions to existing documentation, and providing input to technical papers or presentations. 
  • Delivering technical presentations related to production support activities
  • Creating & maintaining product parts, assemblies & drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 9.0 modeling software. 
  • Performing complex engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, test, and
    product assurance tasks of limited complexity for assigned portions of a project.
  • Solving moderately complex engineering problems which have not been clearly defined and may not have similar precedents available.
  • Ensuring tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Appling wide range of engineering design and analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a complex portion of a technical project.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with customers. 
  • Acquiring and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines,
    industry practices, trends, and applications
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with safety policies and rules.
  • Providing input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • US Citizenship- Due to the sensitive nature of the work, you must be a citizen of the US to be eligible for consideration.  
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical discipline (typically mechanical or aerospace engineering) plus 4 years relevant experience or a M.S. degree and 2 years' experience.
  • Working knowledge of and hands on experience in creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems, preferable PTC Pro-E or CREO.
  • 2+ years experience with Creo modeling and drawing generation
  • Experience with EPDM system preferably Windchill
  • Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems that require a professional level of engineering knowledge. 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written). 
  • Experience working with internal or external shops to manufacture designs
  • Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines. 
  • Experience in military product production environment 
  • Experience in developing precision assembly tooling
  • Strong preference for someone with a good working knowledge of 
    • GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5 (2009 or 2018)) 
    • Tolerance Stack Analysis
