W2 Hourly Contract at $30 - $43 per hour DOE*
US Citizenship Required-Active Clearance a Plus

Are you mechanically inclined with the ability to maintain, repair, and install equipment that is part of a 'live and operational' system?  Do you understand 'down stream and real time' implications of your work and have the ability to make recommendations for improvements? We are not looking for an assembly line worker. Not a lot of repetition in this role.  We need a creative Lab and Deployment Technician to act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in support of engineering activities (designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly) of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.  

Duties and responsibilities of this important position will include:
  • Interpreting complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understanding the necessary interfaces
  • Performing complex system level troubleshooting to component level
  • Working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
  • Laying out, building, calibrating, adjusting, installing and maintaining equipment, components, devices or systems
  • Supporting engineering activities including design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems
  • Constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing and maintaining equipment, components, devices, or systems       
  • Supporting Deployment activities at customer sites (CONUS and International)
  • Identifying and helping prototype new preventative maintenance tasks      
  • Lead, direct, and organize Technician work 
  • Working with associates in other departments and understanding cross-functional relationships   
  • Complete tasks in effective an resourceful way   
  • May be required to support development of test specifications and procedures   

Required for success: 
  • US Citizenship is required- must be able to pass background check to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. 
  • Associates degree in related discipline
  • 5 + years of directly relevant experience
  • Demonstrated work history as a skilled specialist, completing tasks in resourceful and effective ways     
  • Ability to perform duties and tasks with minimal supervision required  
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with internal and external team members including customers
  • Ability to use computers and software applications to assist in job execution, with special focus on Excel     
  • Mechanically inclined ideally with prior experience maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment that is part of a 'live and operational' system      
  • Capable of working remotely with limited local support (note: this means remote support for team and deployment, not remote work-there may be some flex time and hybrid ability to work from home but this is not a telecommute position---majority of work has to be done within the lab)
